Nightmare Escape 2.0

Nightmare Escape is a simple platformer game I started last year as a course project and decided to use as a study project to obtain the needed programming skills of making a decent platformer game. It starts very, very simple and every version will add more complexity and flavor to the game, expanding the possibilities and enriching the gameplay.

- version 1.2 is the first upgrade: extended and enhanced version of the original with more enemies and an actual story that goes with the game.

- version 2.0 is a sequel that Hex and I made (and are working on) for the game dev event Show me your game in March.
This one is still in development, but very close to completion.

Plot & features:
In 2.0 the plot is pretty much the same - you are in the role of the 8 year old Lilly who goes into the dream world to save her little brother Sam from the nightmares. Unlike Abigale, she's armed only with a teddy bear, however she picks up more magic items along the way to aid her into this unfriendly world. Warm cuddly blanket gives her protection, fuzzy bunny slippers increase her speed and a pair of kitty ears make her attacks faster.
Health potions and multiple bosses will be available in this version.

Gameplay:
A bit more meaningful than the last one, I promise :D Better diversity among the enemies - we have passive slow zombies, aggressive flame-nightmares that will chase you and make damage over time and different kinds of bosses (only one is ready so far, but the spring is young)

Coding, graphics and resources:
All the coding is done on Game Maker studio with GM language (java based programming language).

This time we are two coders - Hexarage and I. I'm responsible for the platforms' setting and the hero behavior and Hex works on the enemies and the bosses.

All the backgrounds and platform in the game are my doing. Photoshop skills much? Yes!
The sprites for the Abigale and the enemies are done with BannedStory4
