What a night!
Silicon Drinkabout is a casual meet up of folks working in startups, IT or doing creative digital stuff in Varna and it is to happen every other Friday night. The first one was last Friday (17.04) in Beehive and it was a hoot!
The Beehive workspace is on the last floor of the building and it has an amazing balcony, so the heat of the party was situated there along with the complimentary food and drinks provided by the sponsors. Now, when I say "heat of the party" this is a little tricky 'cuz we are talking engineers & programmers here. Yeah, I kid the engineering kin, we're not as anti-social as stereotypically pictured, but there is a little bit of truth in that stereotype.
Aside from the occasional akwardness while trying to approach new people and have conversation with them, there were many familiar faces I've met in previous events, some new faces with similar interests and many, many colleagues from the university. Turns out most of us knew each other or at least someone who knows the others which was nice, 'cuz that way it is, at least for me, easier to break the ice with new people.
